NMN
Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is a supplement that has gained attention for its potential to promote health and longevity by supporting cellular function. Clinical trials have demonstrated that NMN supplementation can improve markers of inflammation, oxidative stress, cognitive decline, cardiovascular health, and immune function in middle-aged adults. Long-term studies in mice have shown that NMN treatment can increase both lifespan and healthspan, particularly in a sex-dependent manner.
NMN has been found to help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, which are key factors in aging and various chronic conditions. It also shows promise in protecting against cognitive decline and cardiovascular disease, while supporting immune function. These effects suggest that NMN may have broad benefits for maintaining overall health as people age.
However, the evidence is primarily from cohort studies with moderate strength, and more robust clinical trials are needed to confirm these findings.
